Bout Day Volunteers

It takes a village! If you’ve been to any of our bouts, you’ve probably interacted with one or more of our awesome volunteers who help make ECRG events run so smoothly! Our bout-day volunteers assist with crowd control, skater check-in, ticket sales, and more! To get involved, email [email protected] .

Non-skating officials help with everything from keeping score to tracking penalties and more. No experience necessary! We’ll train you! Contact [email protected] for more information.

Event Safety Staff

From basic first responders to emergency medical technicians, we have volunteer opportunities for community members who are interested in supporting roller derby by ensuring skaters stay safe on the track.  Contact [email protected] for more information.

Are you interested in announcing and our games? Do you have witty banter, and a good handle on the rules of the game (or are you willing to learn)? Contact [email protected] for more information on how to get involved!

Graphic Designers

Have an awesome idea for a bout poster or advertisement? Or perhaps you’re a graphic designer that could contribute your skills toward helping us produce more content?  We are currently seeking 2-4 graphic designers to assist with marketing materials including graphics for social media, print advertisements, website content, handbills, and more. Contact [email protected] for more information.

Marketing and Social Media

Are you someone who writes well and would like to contribute to enhancing our presence on social media and on the interwebs via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and more? We have an immediate need for help with live Tweetcasts, writing press releases, bout previews, bout recaps, and more.  Contact [email protected] for more information.

If you don’t see something here that fits your needs and you would like to get involved, please email us with your ideas and/or your skills at [email protected]. We are always in need of more talent and support!

The Emerald City Roller Girls rely on our dedicated officiating crew to ensure that our events are run safely, efficiently, and in accordance with WFTDA rules. It takes (HOW MANY?) officials to run a roller derby bout, and we are always in search of interested volunteers to become part of the Emerald City Roller Girls Officials (ECRGO)

Non-Skating Officials

If you love roller derby and would like to be involved in a position that doesn’t require roller skating, becoming an NSO might be for you. The Emerald City Roller Girls NSOs are a dedicated group of women and men who are responsible a variety of jobs during scrimmages and bouts including: scorekeeping , penalty box timing, operating the scoreboard, and tracking lineups.

If you have skating skills and are interested in the particulars of rules (or you just look amazing in stripes), a skating referee position is for you! Our skating referees help keep the skaters safe and the game fair. Referees will be trained in the necessary skating skills, the rules of the game, and how to work with the other referees and NSOs.

No previous experience in sports officiating is necessary!  Our zebra crew will teach you all that you need to know for either position, but a passion for roller derby is encouraged.
