We have New Skater Orientations throughout the year to teach people how to skate and play roller derby. These orientations offer attendees the opportunity to listen to roller skaters talk about skating, the learning curve, what practices look like, and what options are available (there is something for everyone, whether on or off skates!). Those interested in derby/skating can talk to current derby officials and skaters and ask questions.

Orientations are typically held twice a year, one in the fall and one in the winter. Contact [email protected] with questions or to receive more information.

Check our Facebook Page for upcoming events!

ECRD also offers junior derby for kids ages 10-17. Emerald City Junior Gems learn to skate, build skills such as footwork and coordination, teamwork and communication, and stay active during weekly practices. ECJG promotes kids roller derby constituting positional blocking only with minimal contact for children’s safety.

Contact [email protected] with questions or for more information.

We also recommend checking out our brother league, Lane County Concussions, a co-ed Men’s Roller Derby League Association member. If ECRD is not the right fit for you, perhaps LCC is!
